Today we remade my raised garden bed in front of the barn. I had treated landscape timbers there, but nothing lasts in south Louisiana. My father-in-law had these great creosote boards in his back pasture that he gave us.
My bed has increased in size fairly significantly. It was 4 ft by 16 ft. Now it’s 6 ft by 20 ft, giving me a bit more square footage.
I’m trying to decide how I’ll fill it in with soil. The first time I just layered bags of potting soil and cut the tops out. The bottoms make a nice plastic weed barrier. Then I “mulch” with cleanings from the chicken pens. Great dirt!!
I’ll let you know what I figure out.
Wow! This is awesome!
