Our show pigs have their final market show in exactly 8 days from today. They are quite stressed from the last 2 shows, and many other pigs I know are sick. It happens when you take them to play with other pigs. Works like daycare. They pick up new germs and get sick.
Ours haven’t been sick, but they are not eating well. Yesterday I offered yogurt, buttermilk, pretzels, cow feed, basically anything they may find interesting.
Today my veterinary acupuncture friend stopped by to see if she could stimulate their appetites with a few needles.
Spruce was the only one to jump up and eat, but I’m hoping this afternoon will show some increased appetites across the barn…
