Today was a beautiful weather day!
We finally got the raised beds ready for planting.

We visited our local nursery today for bedding plants. We did plant both lima beans and okra from seed.
Soaking the seeds for a few hours in water helps to soften the seed coat, allowing sprouting to occur more rapidly.

Marigolds are a great plant for your veggie garden. They help in several ways. They attract beneficial insects like ladybugs and deter harmful pests like tomato hornworms.

Here is a video discussing the parts of a seed and how we plant.
We will continue to monitor the garden as it matures, watching flowers bloom and tiny vegetables take shape. We will also battle bugs, pests, and extreme weather. Such is the life of a farmer!
