Spring is here and we have so many things going on! Chrome, our 3 yr old Jersey, is springing, which means she’s about to pop with her 2nd calf. She was bred with sexed semen, so we have a pretty good chance that it’s a heifer. We are just waiting with her.
The weather has been beautiful, except for some torrential rainfall last week. The potatoes are sprouting, and last I checked, we have 8 plants up. They range from the newest one to the first one, and are varying greatly in size.
This is a brand new plant sprout, and it looks like weeds will be a problem this spring.
This is the oldest plant.
These are my 2 orange tabby twin cats that live in our pig barn, Cheeto and Abby, along with our Chihuahua/Schnauzer 12 yr old dog, Christmas (yes, she came from Santa long ago).
The men pulled out frozen deer meat and made summer sausage.
Here it is hanging in the smokehouse.
Finished product.
As you can see, we are super busy. I’m going to try to slow down and sit and write a few detailed posts, but for now, we are off to the arena to ride horses.
And no, I don’t recommend shorts. My kids cheat when it’s hot. But today it’s COLD here! So today everyone will be in proper horse attire.
Blessings!
